I purchased a set of what I was told were Hilux wheels and tires (take-offs from a 4-Runner) that included the factory TPMS. The guy had sold several sets and said that some people had no trouble with their vehicle recognizing the new sensors.

Unfortunately I wasn't able to use the standard TPMS reset procedure (2020 Tacoma btw) and decided to wait for my first service to see if they could be reset/reprogrammed. The shop told me they didn't have sensors in them. I went back to the guy that sold them to me and he said they are most definitely there.

Do the Hilux sensors operate on a different frequency and do you think I'll be able to just have them reprogrammed vs. buying a new set?

    Thanks!

You need PMV-C015 sensors with low angle. 4Runner TPMS sensors (PMV-107J) are not compatible with Taco and will not work. Same frequency but different code.
