    I have a S/C for that :D.

Well I think you'll be waiting a while for the Diesel Hilux. I could see the next Tacoma and Hilux merging designs if the chicken tax goes away, but I only see Toyota pursuing Diesels here if the demand for them goes up first with other companies like GM and Dodge. So far the Ecodiesel isn't selling all that hot so I don't think Toyota is getting any motivation to bring their Diesels over here.

Yeah and even with that s/c you need Mayan calendar to count your 0-60 :D
If you want fun you go V8 5.7
Eco diesel uses Fiat engine. There is nothing worse than Fiat. Trust me.
Fiat makes Russian Lada look like Rolls Royce.

I have a 5.0 L Ford Aluminum body if I need to feel V8 power. Makes you 5.7 L look like an antique and gets moving faster.

My TRD S/C truck moves just fine with 33's and no regear. To be honest that's all I care about.

My point is that Toyota has made it pretty clear that unless the market forces turn towards Diesels in North America, they aren't bringing there Diesel engines over here.

I've never driven one, but I sat in a double cab Hilux diesel that was being outfitted for contractor work in the Middle East. It was a bare bones work truck with crank windows and a manual gearbox. If that thing was on sale here in the U.S. I would have gotten it instead of my 2015. But I did buy a pretty basic truck without all the bells and whistles.

Honestly though, I doubt it would be a big hit here in the states. Everyone would complain it's too basic and had a rough ride. After all, mall crawlers are what sells, not what actually lasts and works the best.
