Whenever my truck is running there is a hissing noise. Sounds near the water pump/fan area so that's what I'm thinking it is. Taking it into Toyota saturday for them to diagnose the problem and from there I will be doing it all myself. I can take a video if that helps and post it but I would like some feedback for suggestions. It has 107,800 miles on it and I picked it up with 90k in december. Wasn't doing it until 104kmiles.

Is the AC on at the time? Maybe the drain line is dripping on the exhaust.

"hissing noise" makes me think of a vacuum leak, have you checked all the hoses for cracks or loose connections?

I rarely use my A/C. It does it everytime my engine is on even if the air is off

So. . . Did it end up being the pulley?

They said it was the alternator and an idler pulley. About to order them tomorrow.

Cool. I'm about to pick up an idler pulley. Got that same noise. Parts place said there was a upper and lower. . . . Which one are you replacing ? I'm thinking of just doing both.

I've gotten my lower replaced a few months ago so I'm doing upper and alternator. Now I got to find a pulley puller!

Only one?? You should replace them all at the same time.. They have the same amount of wear.
