I'm a genius smh and hit a concrete pole in a parking garage I could not see. I'm really only willing to spend $1000 to make it look better but I'm just curious how much you guys think this damage might run me to fix. Old girl is paid off and Im not trying to spend a lot of money on cosmetic work.

How much are the labor rates in you area? Is labor taxable? Are parts and paint/materials taxable? Any damage behind the bumper cover?

Also, forgot to ask, did you lose the fender flare or tear the mounting points on the flare?

I'm thinking lower bumper and fender flare replacement, unpainted. DIY install, all of those are easy to do with a simple socket set and plastic pry tools.

That will keep you under 1k.

You could always pull quotes to have it painted and the fender repaired when the budget allows.

That fender is fixable, but it's bowed out in the center of the wheel opening. I think you have 3 options:

    1) Leave it alone
    2) use a heat gun on the bumper cover and push out as much of the dent as you can, bend the fender back by hand, reinstall the flare, hit everything with some compound (won't help too much), and leave it alone
    3) Remove the bumper, fix the fender, fix the flare, replace the missing headlamp filler, paint it all. Fixing and painting the fender properly will require removing the radio antenna, blending the door, and removing the door trim items, handle, etc. This will be over $1k unless you do it yourself. If you take this route and do it yourself, be sure you'll be happy with the outcome.

I don't think any other options would make a lot of $ sense or be a good use of your time. My $.02.

Junkyard and paint. Do it yourself. Silver is a pretty simple color to spray. You can also order pre-painted body parts.

    Doing something similar today myself.

You can't rattle can Matador Mica. Don't think I didn't ask.

That is a pre-painted bumper skin for 300.00 shipped to my door.

It appears you also have some hidden damage. The headlight looks like it is no longer aligned properly and there is metal substructure where the light mounts to behind the bumper.

Looks like you need a fender. Headlight. Bumper cover. Used ones are like $50.

Don't know what else is damaged potentially hidden behind it.
You could get a steel bumper. The price is not that far off. Probably safer and less likely to get damaged.

the lower trim panel under headlight appears to have fallen off and gone missing.
And hopefully the headlight sagging is caused due to it bending or breaking, being a fragile plastic part, as opposed to metal behind that it mounts to.
Such as broken plastic mounting tabs of the headlight housing.

that is a fairly large looking hood panel gap that might be something to look at.
I guess if you do replace certain parts
like a fender that's hopefully $50, and headlights that can be cheap and you need anyway (they're faded), if you mount that up (not a lot of bolts) it will tell you if there's damage underneath based on if it sits straight or not.

I've heard of bent core supports that supposedly can be bought separately. I'm not sure if they weld on or bolt on.

    plastic = bumper cover
    underneath that = bumper
or crash brace, whatever it's called. To absorb impact. Bolts to frame rails/horns/frame. Aluminum.

Satoshi, debadged, rear view mirror bracket, tail gate hose clamps, trimmed mud flaps.
Holy shit you did quite a lot of damage for a parking lot pole.

The large gap between the hood and the fender is because the fender is pulled outward/downward. It's a pretty easy fix, but the fender overall needs a good amount of work. If a nice used one can be found cheap, replacing it is a good option as well.

It's a metal pole, filled with concrete, buried 4 feet into the ground. He's lucky it's not worse.
