Thanks Guys.. here is an update..

$4,498.59 of damage, everything plastic on the front end is being replaced.. did you know the freaking headlights cost 265.00!? Should have it back 1/22/09 and take it straight to the BVORR/HIDDEN FALLS meet with Timmer.

If the damage is going to be more than $1k you might think about just paying the deductible, letting insurance handle it, and when they are done taking the bumper off and selling it back for some money and swap it with the ARB or whatever you decide to do about the bumper.

You pay insurance so if the damage is going to be more you might as well take advantage of it. A deer shouldn't make your premium go up since it is wasn't an at fault accident.

Good luck with whatever you decide to do. Nice picture of the trophy kill by the way.

That is exactly what I am doing, deductible is 1000.00, new front bumper is 1167.00.. bought the ARB last week, 1050.00 delivered.. Body shop will put it on for me. So, I was forced to spend the 1050.00 before I wanted to for the ARB.. darn.. :)

    ME TOO!

Sounds about right for the damage. I hit one back in November, It ended up being about $3600 in damage when it was all said and done.

    http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/2nd-gen-tacomas/60098-stupid-f-king-deer.html

They replaced both headlights, grill, fender, fender flare, fender liner, bumper cover, bumper brackets, AC condensor line (didnt really need it but the dealer was milking the insurance company), and painted everything.

I ended up getting a color matched grill, and they touched up the spots where the bug deflector brackets scratched the hood...all for $1,000 :(

The local dealer fixed it in 2 days. Dropped it off on tuesday morning and picked it up on thursday afternoon. Props to them for the quick turnaround.

After that incident I called the insurance company and lowered my deductible to $500. Made my premiums go up $15 a month but worth it.
