    Hey TW,

Here I am posting my first thread and I wish the circumstances were different, but I was coming home from a boarding trip at red mountain and obviously the girlfriend was driving. I know, I know. That won’t happen again but I was pooched. Hit a deer just south of Cranbrook, the truck is driveable as we got it home. Lucky she didn’t take out the rad, and everyone was fine except my truck.

I guess the guidance I’m looking for would be aimed at Canadians in Calgary or surrounding Rockies.

Where should I take my truck to get looked at/fixed?

How can I get a sso slimline bumper without waiting months?

This is my first claim and wondering how this is going to pan out. Will I be waiting months for my truck to look mean again?

I would like to add Baja Designs squadron fogs, a steel bumper of some sort possibly SSO slimline and if I can’t get a pro grille I like the BAMF or BPF options so I can make this a blessing in disguise I guess but I don’t know how the insurance companies deal with such upgrades.

Thanks and look forward to some responses.

May I suggest removing the word help from the title? Usually reserved for (near) emergencies...

Came in here looking to help someone stranded, not help with replacing truck parts (which I will ALSO happily do.)

    Oof, Moyie Deer strikes again?

Talk to insurance first, they may have recommended body shops, then see what the dealer recommends, then try looking around. Get quotes and let them know you want to do some upgrades vs like for like.

    Good luck!

Obviously, she needs to find herself a new boyfriend.
Clearly this never would have happened had he been driving. I’m not sure if its because he is a man or if its because hes above having deer jump out infront of him.

I stated “obviously she was driving” because it’s harder to be mad at someone else when an accident happens rather than beat yourself up. I would rather it have been me driving But thanks for the input bauuud.

The way you put it, it sounded like you blame her and if you had been driving it never would have happened.
She wrecked your truck and you’ll never let her drive it again.

If you are going to be going through insurance i would be taking it to a factory authorized toyota body shop such as the one at country hills toyota.
If you plan on paying for this stuff yourself, fix auto like mentioned above is a great shop or kyle at krave can help also. Krave is more a toyota offroad shop but im sure they can pull it apart order new bodypanels and replace for you. They also might be able to get you a steel bumper quicker and some bumpers he carries stock. Check out there facebook page!!!!! they do some sweet builds, and mines on there.

People think I'm an asshole because I won't let anyone drive my car. They don't realize I'm only protecting them, if they ever fucked it up I would hate them forever. This way I can only hate myself and I used to that .

I'm an asshole for a lot of other reasons

I would have to agree with going through a Toyota dealer such as Country Hills Toyota just like
Broccoli mentioned above. I have heard good things about the work they do.
