It's amazing how much damage they can do. Glad you made it out okay, and the truck looks repairable.

Yeah. Would have expected the bumper to hold up better to be honest. But it did help more than stock. Glad your okay and hope your truck gets all fixed up to new for ya.

I didn't keep the deer either. I knew half of it was destroyed, it was late and way to heavy to load by myself. Not to mention I don't have any freezer space.. Stupid deer!

    It is 3/16".

    No, old school bumper.

No way!! ARB is uglier than SHIT! Relentless, or elite maybe

I ate the last deer that fucked my truck up, over $5k in damages!! Same damage to the front, fucked up fender, broken headlights etc..

Sorry for your luck Supra :(

Looks are way down the list when it comes to a bumper for me. I think the ARB looks great, but I would have chosen it regardless because animal strikes are the biggest hazard I face. None of the clearance bumpers protect as well, for one thing because they sit too close to the truck. You need room between the bumper face and the truck if you want to avoid this kind of damage.

The headlights very often break that way. The mounts break off and the whole unit is toast. Without a headlight hoop, they are a sitting duck for a swinging head or leg.

At 50 MPH you're lucky the deer went under and not over into your cab.

like everyone else... surprised the bumper didnt hold up better... I've had ARB's before and they are crazy strong. i think i just made up my mind for a front bumper!

with that said....i'm sure it would've been way worse with a stock bumper.

I think the center "box" portion of the bumper (where the 3/4" shackle mounts are) may have pulled away from the six studs that mount to the frame. Once you start taking things apart, you'll know for sure.

The center box is 3/16" and IMO practically indestructible, while the "wings" are just over 1/8" thick.

Looks like you damaged enough parts to warrant a 2012 conversion. :D

With all these pictures of damage after hitting a deer with a beefy bumper, I'm scared to think what would happen to mine. I see one at least twice a week going to school in the mornings.

Good thing your not the one injured.

Sometimes you hit the deer's hip, which causes the head to spin around into the rocker panel.

The outer shell of that bumper is 1/8" plate.
When you hit a deer at 50 this is what will happen.
When you hit a rock at 1mph this is what will not happen.
Most any other bumper will fold under this type of collision and honestly, you want the bumper to be the weak point, not the frame. I'd rather replace a couple pieces of the bumper rather than a whole frame, wouldn't you?

Eric, I will get back to you tomorrow on pricing for a new side wing.
Sorry to see this happen but I am glad you are okay!

My father hit a deer in his 2012 ford f250 at 55 and i must say his bumper is in a lot better condition than this one. Either way the OP is ok which is the best thing.
