Both of the above. No dash lights lit up, didn't mention a caved grille, probably fine.

I'd still do a walk around and crawl under, because I have eyes on my truck; the internet just has opinions. One of those is worth more.

Good you didn’t get hit in the windshield! That’s a good reason not to follow trucks too closely. I’ve seen construction equipment and ladders fly out of beds. And one time, a trenching shovel sitting upright in its holder started spinning like a helicopter blade with the wind hitting it and it took off high over the truck and crashed onto the freeway lane in front of me. I swerved and avoided hitting it. I was driving my 1st Gen Tacoma another time on a winding mtn highway with a sedan behind me. There were no turnouts for awhile and he was being rather impatient and was tailgating me. Well, there was a large rock in the middle of the lane around the next corner and I had to straddle it, luckily clearing it but the little car behind me wasn’t so lucky- it acted like a can opener under his engine and transmission.

Glad your truck is ok, maybe leave a bit more room when following others in order to have the time to respond to road hazards trucks and other vehicles throw up at you…

I love swerving at the last second to straddle and object and watch the azz-wipe tailgater behind me crash into whatever it is. Pulled that stunt once with a jerk who didn't see the highway patrol car moving up next to me in the other lane, view blocked by a semi - at first chance the dude floored it and shot into an open lane like a rocket right in front of Mr. Black-and-White... LOL... blue lights and siren ensued... it was glorious LOL...

Go underneath your truck and take pictures, or pay a mechanic to do it for you. Pretty simple solution.

    I drive a Miata.

I learned this lesson the hard way. I was driving the ex's little go-kart of a car, the truck in front kicked up a 3 foot long piece of tire tread. I wasn't even tailgating, I just misjudged the hang time of that sucker, thinking it was going to lay back down by the time I got to it. It didn't. That little section of tire caved in the front of the car, it looked like I hit a deer. Surprised the hell out of me.

That was a fun phone call to the insurance agent.

Now I make two assumptions when driving: Assumption A: nobody sees you and everyone is willing to kill you for the space your car currently occupies. Assumption B: Nobody else secures their load, fastens their trailer, or remembers to put the bolts back on their wheels/bumper/roof/coffee.

Haha. I just need the plastic, When I put my meso switch piece in mine, I kinda screwed it up, only have one spring left. I got a bunch of glue on the face side so it looks not so perfect.
