i was called sunday morning by the police stating that my truck was involved in a hit and run. my truck was towed and $700+ later i picked up my truck at the auto return and saw the damage to my baby, Roberta...:(

she has some front right passenger damage to the bumper, fender, headlight, grille, hood, and alignment along with the rear driver wheel looking way outta alignment ... and my MP3 player was missing..

anywayz, since there's nothing more to do other than being pissed, how about moving on and fixing her back to life with some mods...

im gonna need a new bumper (possibly aftermarket), headlights (aftermarket), hood scoop, homer satoshi grille, and new leaf springs...

any suggestions on how to move on?

    thanks,
    izzy.

Holy crap... Take it to a reputible body shop and let the look at it. I would have it put on a frame rack as I suspect it is tweaked with that kind of damage.

You're going to need a lot more than what you listed, that must have been a hell of a hit to bend the rear leaf that badly.

I'll put money on a bent axle as well. So who stole the mp3 player, was it the towing company maybe?

I would definitely have it looked at. That rear end looks bad. I'd be worried about axle, drive shaft, shocks bent, frame, and that's just the back half.

Unless it was already reported stolen, good luck getting police to believe
that you weren't out DUI, and hit somebody and ran....

Actually the OP doesn't say that the truck was stolen. If someone took my truck for a joy ride without me knowing it I would be PISSED!

I don't know how bad the truck may be, I was just involved in an accident where I struck a vehicle in front & someone rear-ended me. My driver's side leaf springs look just like the OP's pick. The guy that rear ended me went under my bumper and hit the tire, dead on. The truck is at the shop & the preliminary estimates don't say anything about the frame being tweaked.

That's a real bummer OP, hope you get it sorted out.

Wow! For that damage to happen, it had to hit something moving forward, stop, and EVERYTHING ITS GOT floor it in reverse, catching the axle, differential, or shock mount on something while in reverse. What would be there to cause that?

In any event, I would be worried about the integrity of the every part related to the rear axle, drive shaft, and TRANSMISSION+motor mounts, since it seems likely that this impact ended up absorbed by the transmission.

OP: Hope you have an AIR TIGHT alibi, and that if you have any KIDS/SPOUSE, that they also have similarly air tight alibi. Looks to me like very inexperienced or inebriated driver who got into MINOR front end collision and panicked... floored it in reverse, hit something that disabled the vehicle, and ran. Not having any major damage to the inside suggests that the offender had access to the key. If the offender had access to the key, this suggests that it was you or someone you know, and they'll be coming after you.

Front end damage, I would consider MINOR.
I seriously doubt that there would be any frame damage due to the back end impact, it didn't direct into the frame, but into the axle, the spring that bent protected the frame from anything major.

    Back end parts possible list;
Whole back axle+diff, one spring, drive shaft, transmission, transmission and motor mounts.

Light pole in front simultaneous with parked car? Back end damage could NOT have been caused by a light pole, there would be body damage in order to cause that, plus damage would be on the other side.

I'm going with this. If I was telling the story, I would say friend wrecked my truck, or I used my truck as a "rent-a-rock" and the dealers fucked it up. Either way, OP, where ya at? What's the whole story?
