So last night at about 1am some guy passed out while driving and hit my parked Taco

I ran out of my house and chased after his trail of coolant. I found his truck about a mile down the road parked at an apartment complex.

The police have his name and address, as well as his registration and EXPIRED insurance.

I just had the frame replaced out of pocket (cause the recall has EXPIRED) about 4 months ago, and it's now totaled sitting in my garage.

    It runs fine... shifts fine...

What should I do with it?

Sue him, get your money back... Even if he doesn't have insurance, he must pay.

Just the fact that he doesn't have insurance would make me want to sue the shit out of him. Don't let that irresponsible asshole get off lightly.

I had liability, but I cancelled. Liability wouldn't help me in this situation anyway though.

The police have all of his info. We even know where his parents live, but can only put out a bench warrant, and wait for him to screw up again.

He is a convicted felon. He just got out of prison after 5 years for drug charges. I doubt he's got a pot to piss in.

What do you think the truck would be worth if I sold it as a parts truck (whole thing)

I drove it a few hundred feet to my garage. Sifts fine, runs fine. New tires.... Frames gone

Sorry man. Sue for damages plus court cost (if you have the $ to pay for cost upfront). Turn the truck into a buggie. Or go full tube chassis buggie with a tpi SBC.

Depending in how far up any frame damage is, you could always do ladder bars w/ coil overs, chop the frame off behind the coil over top mount and do a very short bed.

As for what to do with the truck, I'd buy it back and chop the back off and tube it all out. She a sweet truggy out of it.

So neither one involved had insurance? They both shouldn't be on the road anyway then.
I have been hit twice from non insured motorist. Both times my truck was repaired using my own insurance and then MY rates went up. WTF.
