I’d bet that if you filed a police report, they may have license plate enhancing technology to help clear that picture up enough to get an accurate reading.

Did you file a police report?

You probably need a report to file a claim even against your own insurance.

Have you checked all the debri from the other vehicle? Front plates are often left behind in a crash.

What's the likelihood that the person who hit you has insurance, if you can identify the offending vehicle?

Can you take them to court and prove they hit your Tacoma, and get them to pay, if uninsured?

Was the vehicle reported stolen? If the vehicle is insured, will their insurance pay out if the vehicle is stolen?

It's a crappy situation to be in. The only thing you might be able to do is file a claim with your insurance co. and that might not even be in your best interest. Depending on the price of repair.

Dude, sorry about that. Look up under your bumper to see where it mounts to the frame. Don’t like the way that bumper is rolled under.

They should make some type of shrapnel weapon or IED for the rear bumpers. Once the bumpers gets hit and rolls under and hits the frame a projectile launches outwards into the object behind running into the back of the Tacoma.

I would think the police should be able to help if t are worth their salt. Or maybe your insurance company

There just physically isn't enough data in the photo to enhance it. Sorry man.

Ok without looking at the thread. I also saw 743 as the last 3 number.

Silver toyota ending 743, should nail whoever did it.

I know it's too late for you in this case, but that picture quality is why I replaced my Garmin with a higher res dashcam, the Nextbase 622gw - something to keep in mind.

Hate that people don't want to take responiblity for thier actions (Sh!T happens no one is perfect just take responibilty)

Had it happen to me Feb 2021. Wife sent me for DQ ice cream. Came out to my tailgate trashed. DQ got it on camera, cops got the guy and I had my baby repaired.

Best thing for both of us

    NO ONE WAS HURT

    But it still sucks!

Home security camera - got it. They focus better with closer stuff.

Hopefully the police, or you, will take those pictures to the body shops in the area. Or email all the body shops around with these.

I wonder if your insurance co will try to find the driver so they can recover their funds…
