    Sounds terrible where you are. It's a bit more cut and dry in BC (Canada). There is one insurance company (ICBC) where everyone has their insurance from. There are different insurance brokers, and you can get additional third party coverage for things, but the body responsible of all basic motorcycle insurance is ICBC. In my experience there isn't a lot of this "insurance companies attacking other insurance companies" to get a payout or not.

    It's definitely not perfect but it sounds like a nightmare where you are.

    I’d try to find a toyota scrapper with a good left bedside. They bolt on (no welding/cutting).

    Pay out of pocket. It should be around 2300 and change. Not worth your insurance going up for a couple hundred dollars.

    I had to replace a bedside on my 14 @ 2500 miles >_<
