This may or may not help but my haul master hauled my 2008 Kawi 450 over 1000 miles to Idaho from a San Diego. Legit! Simple solution for saving bed space

Has anyone had experience with the double hitch carrier? Is this even possible on a Tacoma with two 250 dirt bikes? I’m skeptical with this and am debating a roof rack for the rtt while desert riding allowing the bikes to be in the bed and sticking with the bed rack for mountain camping. 0358E82F-47EB-4FD1-8472-73D59EA9CFBB.jpg

    Just my .02 cents:
I started out with a CRF150 on a hitch-mounted rack. Long story short, in stop and go traffic on the freeway the tie-down came slightly loose. All it took was a sudden stop for the bike to lean heavily towards the truck, then quickly back and off the rack and onto the freeway. Bent the bars and footpeg, but from that time I will never use a hitch rack ever again.

If you think about it, the physics are against you - the bike is sitting perpendicular to the movement of the vehicle. With only two wheels you rely entirely on the straps to keep the bikes upright. When the bike faces forward/in-line (with the truck) the straps only really have to "work" when the vehicle is turning.

Yea kinda what I was thinking! My buddy had one and it was just ok and he didn’t feel comfortable with it. So I’m leaning towards the roof rack setup.
    Thanks!

The hitch haulers suck unless you have no other options.

The best ones made are by joe hauler, I had one that was raised up and two gas can holders. I felt like I was loading three bikes every weekend. Lug the 60lb hauler, pin it and tighten the anti sway bolt then load the bike and strap the hell out of it.
In the bed it’s easy loading and two straps.

It’s %90 of the reason I bought the tacoma and a long bed.

The other morning I saw a new short bed taco with two sport bikes in the bed and two in a trailer.

Wtf 400 miles is not long. My aprilia go to tracks on weekend just fine on the short bed and it should weight around 450lbs.
3rd gen bed is quite strong and weifht of soort bike usually stay more on the front.
    Fuck the trailer
