Hey I had a Jeep Liberty for 11 years. I had the CRD(diesel) with a 2 inch lift. I went to Rausch Creek off road park with a group from the local Jeep shop. they all with lifted Wranglers that were mostly mall queens snickered at the Liberty. when we got there the group split up. I went with most of the stock and lightly lifted Jeeps to go in green and moderate yellow rated trails. I did everything they did and was even showing the NOOBs how to drive better offroad. those Liberties have more capability than given credit for. The downside is very little aftermarket support and for the diesel parts and people that can work on them if you cant yourself. the Liberty pic caught my attention and distracted me.

The real reason for my post is actually is to ask about fluid film since it was part of the discussion. I want to undercoat my 2020 before winter. I don't have a garage or a compressor. how difficult will it be with the rattle cans and how many am I going to need? Is the 6 pack on Amazon good? will using ramps or stands be enough to get under the truck? any other items i should have? like mask and safety glasses for sure.

Fluid film isn't as bad as the cosmoline i used where you need to cover your clothes and skin well unless you want a new wardrobe and take a bath in mineral spirits. Fluid film wash's off fairly easy. I'd just wear a pair of goggles and some old clothes...6 cans should more than do it. My 2001 tundra took almost 6. Just think you'll need to do this all over again the next year. Imo, your ahead of the game with cosmoline, or wool wax.

I've seen wool wax available as well it's a bit more expensive but then you often get what you pay for. Same amount of product for that? Same application as fluid film?

I think wool wax is a thicker viscosity, and more expensive, but very similar to fluid film needing to be applied every year. Not sure if wool wax is available in bomb spray cans. Really should take a hard look at cosmoline rp-342...it is more expensive, but from what i've been told it doesn't wash away after a year. You just need to be covered hear to toe when applying...be prepared to throw away those garments when done.

    I see on page one:
    Serious eye damage/irritation
    Organ toxicity (single exposure).

Thanks that's all I need to see to put me off to that product. I'm sure it does great but I'd need major protective gear to work with it and be safe. FF and wool wax are safer to work with.

You should still wear at least a mask you don't need lubricated lungs. It wash washes off people and clothing pretty easy. I do mine every fall. Zero rust in ME and NH (NH clears the roads with salt).

Pennsylvania loves salt too...and brine now as well. The thing is we can get mild winters like last year. We hardly had 1 inch of snow at a time or 3 feet at once from back to back storms and snow every week or two. Im going to get some FF or WW on order this week.

I'd really like to use that but seeing the materials safety sheet I feel like I'd need the kind of protection you would use if you paint cars and work with stuff like this everyday to use it safely. Not sure I want to take risks with my health for some diy rust proofing

Look you can get hit by a car crossing the street if your not careful and don't look. You take adequate precautions when applying this stuff its same as spraying with a can of paint....just don't get it actually on you, its a pita to get it off, but it comes right off with mineral spirits, or other similar stuff. I actually found it less messy to apply than ff...it doesn't run as bad on a warm day. I didn't even wear a mask when i applied it, just safety goggles, a cap, and just a pair of my 3m coveralls i had a spare leftover from a job weatherproofing my crawlspace basement. I did it on a 90 plus degree hot day, and must of sweat a gallon before done in those clothes.

Yeah but probably not on a stone driveway. It won't roll. I'll just lay down some cardboard.

Where is this sprayed and not sprayer underneath? I am in the salt belt and would like to get this done. Do you buy this spray on line?

Bought 6 cans originally off eBay when i saw a deal on free shipping. Probably just as well buying direct from the company now as its all priced about the same....still have a can and a half left over. I would advise to Not spray it on any electrical cables, harness plugs or devices containing any electronics although the company has claimed its safe to. I stuck mainly to the trucks undercarriage, and cab floor that was steel. I didn't spray the composite beds underneath. I removed the trucks tires, spare front spoiler, and engine shield plate to get at the front of the chassis, and all parts of the frame, and all aluminum, or steel tubing that deals with the coolers better.
