hitch wiring issue 2010 double cab 4x4

    i bought a 2010 double cab in April of 2017 I love the truck this is the second tacoma that I have owned issue is it came with hitch and round 7 pin trailer connection but when I hook to my trailer it will not run my trailer lights only lights it will run are one turn signal one brake light one running light I can hook the same trailer to a chevrolet and all lights work so I called my local toyota dealer and they tell me I need this TOWING WIRE HARNESS 4 PIN 08921-04960 the truck does not have a four wire connector. What are your suggestions or remedy for my truck I really do not want to cut the wiring if I don't have to.

    6inch lift sitting on bilstein coilovers. Lexus is300 studs in front to keep stock wheels, general grabber red letters, nfab front bumper.
    They make an adaptor plug to take a 7 pin to a 4 pin. I bought one at tractor supply years ago and it still works fine

    Walmart carries the adapter as well. Less than $15
