Hmm, new thread title?

If the short interest is still over 100%, which it is, a small chunk of big money is going to die on GME. And all of that money will go to normal hard working people. Fuck 'em. I'm going to play the squeeze when it happens and just pray that the SEC or big money doesn't halt our trading platforms like they did this morning. They're definitely going to try and stop it.

We halted our trading platforms. Go read the WSB reddit and look it how many people are asking how to open up a brokerage account. This late in the game people are pouring in at 100x the volume. All those people are overloading the brokers bandwidth capacity. It's not a move by big money. Those brokerages are big money and they want that money from that influx. It's against their bottom line to fuck with it.

 

You think so? I've been keeping tabs on the sentiment all day, and yah there were a shitload of new people trying to get in and trade today, but it wouldn't have been enough to shut down every retail brokerage at the same time. There may be a lot of us, but there's not that many of us??

 

Yeah, there is. NOK and AMC both did over 1 fucking billion trades. AAPL did 140M. NIO 73M. MSFT 69M. Think about that. It's nuts.

Apparently Robin Hood just sent out a letter to all its people that they cannot open up January 29 contracts for GameStop they can only close.

 

RAD. That means they'll all buy FEB 5 instead. Perfect way to extend the strangle.

 

I didn't get that email. They did let me know earlier about volatility and provided me some pages to read to be a smart investor

They also sent me an email today letting me know my instant deposit limit was upped to $100k. So.....

 

I placed an order for GME about half an hour ago, I'm hoping it goes through. I haven't received that notice yet.

It’s apparently for the puts and calls not for shares. Although I wonder if it’s just all these newbies that don’t have any money in their account to cover the option exercising. Maybe if you have enough equity you can do it. They probably don’t wanna be caught with 10,000 people with $400 in the money call options and no cash to buy them because the market froze them out for the last hour

Time will tell I guess. I started investing early pandemic last year and have been learning as I go. It's been a solid year so I figured I would risk a little with this and see what happens.

I have nothing to lose on this play. It's all money accounted for and spent on a reasonable risk. If my balls end up turning into a black hole and I take the solar system down with me, that's a risk I'm willing to live with to make a couple million bucks. High gravity balls hold shares and we all make money off it!

 

This is where I am too. I tried to explain it to others as if you were at a casino where you could bet numbers 1 to 10 one of the numbers pays nothing and they hand you your money back the other nine numbers pay you anywhere from 2 to 10 times your money. Would you like to play???

 

OK so this peaked my curiosity and I did some more research into it. Basically what is happening is the hedge funds are so short leveraged right now on so many stocks that are being attacked by so many retail investors that they had to liquidate long positions and blue chips to cover their losses. This is what was driving down the Dow NASDAQ etc. yesterday and why it appears as if so many stocks are losing money but they haven’t decreased in performance value they’ve just become available because funds had to sell them to remain solvent. Basically all the stocks went on sale because they were forced to sell which is the inverse of them being forced to use that money to buy shares which only drives our shares up. Time for bed
