Me.

I'm becoming a grumpy old man who stops supporting companies when they do stuff I don't agree with.

I don't spend money at Starbucks because they constantly have issues between employees and law enforcement.
I stopped giving money to Dick's Sporting Goods because they actively lobby against 2A rights.
I briefly stopped going to Target because of their bathroom policy, but I've never seen a dude go in the ladies room or vice versa. So I got over that one.
I reduced my consumption of Woka-Cola when they put out their "be less white" campaign to employees. I still drink it occasionally, but will grab a Pepsi instead if given the option.

When Netflix hired Susan Rice to the board and their original content became super in your face LBGTQ, I was annoyed. Then the whole Cuties thing came out and I figured I was done giving them money. Hulu, Dis+, and other options have proven to provide more than enough quality options.

I think companies exist to provide a product or service and should keep the executive's political agendas out of the public eye. Company resources should be spent on improving service and/or lowering cost. Not political or socioeconomic agendas.

Companies exist to make people rich. Then they do whatever they want with that money, and power. Consumers get to choose how we spend our money also.

 

I’m getting to be the same. Stopped watching the NFL because I don’t like politics in my sports.

 

It was somewhat adequate while it lasted.

 

We’ve definitely been in a bubble, and fully expect there could be more declines. I just don’t think he’s right about a crash near that large though. His analysis is missing key pieces of information about this market that makes this correction different than previous big crashes. Only time will tell whose right. I’m putting my money on me lol.

 

Do we know why netflix fell 20% in AH? every news story says it was earnings, but im not buying that.

 

They needed to liquidate to pay GME shareholders of course. Earnings was just a cover

 

Something like that is going on, people dont just drop netflix on a bad earnings report, especially 20% down.

 

I don’t buy that as the sole cause either. I think this article on slowing growth is closer to a cause. There are so many streaming services these days, and some even free with ads - I have redbox ap and on my tv for example and can stream a lot of shows and movies with ads for free. Lots of competition and it’s growing. I currently have Netflix for a show my wife likes, and A.m.a.z.o.n Prime for me. been looking at other services to maybe replace cable but I gotta have my Bally Sports regional for Braves games and Canes Hockey.
