Well its already pretty obvious the DTC cant manage the shares properly. I want to see how many synthetics are out there now. God this is nuts it can get to this point.

 

And this is ONE stock. Imagine how many more of them out there are in the exact same situation...

Wondering what you guys think. I’ve put 20% down on a preconstruction apartment that will finish in 9-12 months. I want to put another 20% down on completion. So I have 90k set aside for that doing nothing. Should I buy a GIC? Money market ETF? Or hold it in cash looking for a big crash to double it up?

I don’t really. But with interest rates going up that extra down payment saves me $500 a month or more in interest.

Lending Club savings account...it will pay 2.07% interest...no catch no gimmick...

a money market etf will pay you roughly $0 lol. unless you are totally acceptant of a 20% or so downside risk by the time you need to take that money out, that 2.07% high yield savings (with no $ cap) is your best bet for total security in that time frame.

im faced with the same annoying dilema. Having 10s of thousnads of dollats i want to use in the next 12 months sitting around when there are buying opportunities is painful...but so is watching that crater again and maybe selling at a loss when i want it. So im doing a bit of both. holding reserves in cash, and accepting some downside risk with the market and hoping we dont sink back to 3600 in 8 months

 

Ok, so the price of gas has come down some, but the cost of groceries and utilities continue to rise. So, at some point Americans will be throwing more purchases onto credit and many more will stop buying goods and services. I also think the S&P is headed to the 3500 to 3600 range.

 

guess time will tell. I am not super certain and im betting it goes the other way. Do you have some long term puts youre riding on that bet?

Currently no long puts, will be purchasing some soon, gotta sit down and look at the 50, 100 and 200 day moving averages of a few stocks that I track.

I'm glad i sold most at the top. Still have some because #losses
