Exactly! I was shocked when I tried starting my truck, and... Nothing!

No, I was killing time while my kiddo was doing gymnastics. So I was charging my phone via the USB port on the dash, and reading some articles during that time?

I'm surprised Toyota hasn't done what a lot of other manufacturers do and turn off all non-essential loads if battery voltage drops below a certain threshold, leaving just enough to start the truck. Saved my bacon a couple of times in my service truck.

Just from the experience of buying batteries over the last few years, most seem to be getting worse...the better ones cost more and don't last as long and the ones you get from those wally world places are really garbage. They use be pretty good back in the day. So far the only lead acid battery brand i can really trust to last over 5 years has been a Deka. I'd been told its what the military uses.

Battery companies are gearing up for all electric vehicles. Chances are your little bitty ICE battery is going the way of the dinosaur.
