It's all I could find in under a min on google. Your pic brings up a good question: will the zippers be banned on pants now?

 

I couldn't believe how reckless Kassian was on that play. That was nearly 'drop-in hockey' irresponsible.

 

Seems ridiculous that they would be. The zipper openings were designed to help reduce the resistance the equipment puts against a players forward stride. If the league is more concerned with a players uniform appearance than their equipment function, then Tinker Bell must be running the show.

 

I am glad guys around here don't swing their lumber around like that at drop-in.

 

We've had our share of idiots like that here. They typically don't last - but one always has to watch out for it.

 

the new style is a hard game. You have to use a lot of real hockey plays and break outs to play good. Try focusing on back checking with the centre, let the computer control the defence and try to frustrate the other player

I hear ya. I actually got cut for 7 stitches in spring pickup, though the stick that caught me was in tight and way more in control than Kassian's wild swing.

Well not just forward motion but any motion. I'll try to find something in writing from a league rep on the reasoning for the rule.

 

Anyone here have NHL GameCenter? Thinking about picking it up but heard they black out high profile games from time to time to keep the cable providers happy and at bay....

Not sure what "properly zippered" means here. If it's a rule open to interpretation we might as well throw it out.
