Gary Valk had an interesting idea he brought up during the 1st intermission of the Canucks / Devils game re suspensions

He suggests that each team gets a certain number or suspensions , he suggested 2 , that their players could receive in a season without any ramifications to the team , accumulating more suspensions would result in a incremental point loss for the team , ie suspension # 3 loses the team 1 point , suspension # 4 loses the team 2 points etc

This system would shape the way the teams select and utilize their players

Seems like an interesting scenario
