Bouwmeester is also a much better skater and doesn't take stupid penalties.

 

Your comparing a guy who plays with probably the best team in the league and defence that's probably 3 times better then the leafs. Phaneuf is way better then Bouwmeester. But yes the larger ice makes him less valuable

 

according to TSN's power rankings Phaneuf isn't even in the top 40

I really could care less about their stats. According to extraskater.com Phaneuf plays the toughest minutes in the entire league. Also plays with Gunnarsson who is a regular 3-4-5 guy at best. Factor those in and Bouwmeester would be a disaster in his place. Anyone who don't watch them both has no idea. Bouwmeester is so weak it's not funny

 

based on what exactly? he's on the top D pairing on his team so he plays against the oppositions best players... like every other top pairing dman in the league.

 

They take in consideration level of competition, pk, 5-3, all kinds of crap. What other defence this year has shutout guys like him? Really I don't know I'm asking

Excellent game today. After we found our legs in the second period, Canada played great. The team is a lot faster than I previously believed. Hopefully, the boys are peaking at the right time. Fucale played better than any other Canadian goalie has during the past four World Junior tournaments. That has been our weakness these past few years.

 

Ya I watched him a lot here in Halifax. He might be one of the best goalies I seen in the Q ever

also Im really concerned, Montreals shot production is gross, they dont shoot anymore it feels like

IDK wtf happened, since December they are averaging at best 20 to 25 shots per game, kind of pathetic....

 

considering only 3 of the top 10 teams play in the east, I don't buy the level of competition thing.
