Yep, and Bylsma's first year IIRC. He needs a coach, not a friend. Which is what I suspect is the case. Crosby is still young and needs direction. IMO.

Yeah 104 pts, Hart winner, MVP candidate, no body even had 90 pts. All while on a busted line and had to play the playoffs with the Imp Gibbons on his line. I think hes fine.

 

He may of course be 'fine', but when someone takes a year off because of a brain injury I question whether they will ever truly be 'fine' again. Crosby isn't judged against what others do, he is judged against what he has done in the past. Sure he still appears to be a regular season dynamo, I am just not sure he retains the consciousness of invincibility he had before he had is gray matter bounced off of the inside of his skull. His playoff performances have been deficient in recent memory.

 

I have to agree with Don Cherry about Crosby playing in this era of the NHL. Previous years he would have had some protection, and wouldn't be taking all the cheap shots he gets. All the top stars take a beating now, by mediocre expendable players.
Miss the Semenko era.

Yeah and the Pens stripped them selves of anyone that can actually drop bodies. Only Letang gets nasty after the play and hes their best D man. Its a shame that Staal beats the crap out of him. Sid cant do anything cuz he needs to be on the ice not the box.
