    Makes much more sense logistically ( at least for Kings/ Ducks/ Sharks). When you need to call a player up, or send one down, they are only a short drive away vs players packing up their home, flying thousands of miles or trying to make it through customs/ work visas. May also give an opportunity for the youngsters to practice with the NHLers and coaches.
    Plus, I'm sure the players will appreciate keeping their residence easier.

    This. Having an ECHL team in Anchorage is awesome since it means watching decent hockey for like $15 a ticket, but if I was used to watching AHL and then had to start watching ECHL I'd be kinda upset.
