Did I spot a Canadian talking baseball a ways back???? It's called the World Series because in the 1800's it was the only baseball being played in the WORLD. Major League Baseball is also open to players from all over the WORLD. Dominicans, Puerto Ricans, Japanians, there's even Canadians. Let's stick to hockey though. Do you think if the citizens were allowed to vote on it they'd trade the 'Yotes for the Jays? I say by a landslide.

 

I don't care if your citizens want to trade us the Coyotes , they are gonna end up here anyway

 

The word is that the Coyotes may stay in Phoenix after all and the Atlanta Thrashers may move to Winnipeg .

That would be 2 teams moving from Atlanta to Canada , lol .

 

It seems the NHL is doing everything they can to keep PHX there. There have been lots of rumors about ATL moving, I think they will. Tom Glavine wants to buy them with a group of investors to keep them in ATL. Im just not sure Winnipeg is the best place for a team. I dont want to see another team where they can't bring in any talent cuz nobody wants to play there and all their young guys leave like Edmomton.

I know Quebec needs a new stadium, but I still think Seattle, Portland, and SLC could be good places for a team.

That still doesn't mean they will make money. Ottawa has struggled since they came into the league. Unfortunately most of the money comes from corporate sponsors and box seats and TV revenue. For the NHL a team in Winnipeg isn't going to do a lot for the US TV market. The NHL knows they can't expand the Canada TV market any more. It's tapped out. Why do you think a Canadien team will never be in the Winter Classic? Why do you think they DON'T want Phoenix to leave for Canada?

I'm all for putting teams in locations that would make more sense and draw a bigger crowd. I live in ATL now and it's a joke. I only go to the games when the Pens are in town, it sucks to get to the stadium and ATL is a crappy city. But face it, the NHL is never going to move all the teams in FL, GA, TN, AZ, and OH back to the great white. Canada will be lucky if they get 1 team back.
