Wow, hit to the head much and at this point in the game/season.

 

If the playoffs started today i'd be happy. As long as LA is on the outside looking in.

Canucks VS Flames 1st round would be fucking great also.

Well, if it's any consolation - I want to move to Hawaii. And it gets much darker there!!

What island?

I wouldn't say darker but the nights have an odd feeling, especially on the beach. Might have something to do with knowing you really are in the middle of fucking nowhere.

 

Big Island. Kona area. Went there the last 2 years in a row - and I'm going again this November. Completely fallen in love with the area, and the environment.

 

Awesome, never been myself, was on Kauai last summer. It was really fun but I couldn't imagine living somewhere that small.

 

The sooner I live somewhere that snow does not exist (except for a month or so, at the top of a mountain), the better. I find the Big Island is the perfect size. Several different climate zones - and the people are amazing!!

Oh well. Some day. Okay.....back to hockey!!

Incorrect in this case, the NHL has the name listed as the Toronto Maple Leafs.

In this case, because it is a name, you have to go with the Leagues spelling. I've seen both plurals used when referring to plant leaves/leafs, I work in Agriculture so I should know, and both are acceptable according to the Merriam-Webster's online dictionary.

 

I just don't like a lot of their cocky fans. Team has yet to make the playoffs in years and they taunt guys like Thornton for making the conference finals. Same with lots of leaf fans, most are complete idiots

 

I'd suggest that most people from the GTA are complete idiots. That has nothing to do with the team .

Opinions are never a bad thing. The Leafs haven't done anything for years, but neither have half of the teams in this league. For some reason I feel certain fans believe there team should be entitled for whatever reason. The NHL has done a very good job of taking entitlement out of the game, for the players, teams, and personnel.

 

Bettman gave the fans an ultimatum when they moved back there. For a team to work in that (crappy) market, that arena needs to be full every night. And he's a tool but he was correct. Also, Buff shoulda got 10 games.

I don't find Leafs fans cocky, just a little bit oblivious to reality.
Cockiest fans IMO are Canucks, Bruins, Red Wings, Kings.

 

No wonder you don't post here. Bettman gave no such ultimatum. He only okayed the team coming back because it has the commercial support it didn't have when the team left. The ownership group also bought the team Bettmans way, they did it quietly behind closed doors with league support rather than try to force the move like others had tried. That's why the Quebec Nordiques group has shut up as of late. They finally realized they need to operate quietly with the league if they hope to have a team come back.

I know this will shock you but ticket sales aren't the bread and butter of any Canadian team anymore. Corporate boxes, corporate entertainment, licensing sales, and merchandise are where teams make there money now. No facility in Canada has to worry about sub 13,000 seat ticket sales for the near future, but they are worried about all of those factors I mentioned. If those lose the support of large businesses they will be up a sewage dike without propulsion.
