Anyone else just waiting for the first team to make a blockbuster trade before the draft? Lots of big names that could MAYBE move (Sharp, Stamkos, Kessel, Lehner, etc) and a deep draft could definitely be the breeding grounds for some crazy trades.

TBL: Stammer ain't going anywhere but back to the gym. Do you know what he gained this offseason? Hunger. Besides that, Stevie Y already said their #1 priority (After July 1st) will be to get Stamkos extended.

CHI: Sharp / Bickell could be moved. Oduya will most likely get paid $$$ by another team.

TOR: Is it WILL Kessel get moved, or WHEN will it happen? His list of teams was interesting since most of them were against the cap already, what would they do to fit him? Leafs just filed for arbitration with Bernier.

BOS: Someone needs to Offer Sheet Dougie Hamilton (maybe Chiarelli could do this as an "FU" to his old team) and they can trade Lucic any day now please

VAN: Miller staying, Lack or Markstrom are on the block. Do the twins go too?

NYR: Someone please move Rick Nash. He'll drive your bus to the playoffs, but when your team gets there it's: "no thanks, I'll wait in the parking lot"

 

I'm not so sure on Stamkos. His minutes were cut as the finals went on and Tampa has a cap crunch situation coming in 2-3 years. Yzerman is smart. If he can get another good young forward and a very high draft pick he would be silly not to consider it. I agree that the odds are in favor of Stamkos staying but there is a realistic probability they could deal him if the offer is right.

The rest I'm in pretty much full agreement.

 

Sedins have No Movement clauses , they aren't going anywhere , Lack is more likely to move than Markstrom , Bieksa and / or Hamhuis probably move too

 

What's your rationale for trading Lack over Markstrom? I thought Lack was the future where Markstrom is pretty much burnt out. I'm not saying you're wrong but I'd like to hear the explanation.

 

Markstrom had an awesome year in Utica , the Canucks only need a backup to play 15-20 games , so Lack may have more value in trade return than he does getting paid more than Markstrom to sit on the bench

 

Yeah, I could see that point. Then again I think this year there is a bit of a glut of mid tier goalies with upside on the market. Bernier might move by the sound of things and Lehner sounds like he is all but already out the door. All those mid tier goalies are going to hurt the return you'll get for any one of them.

 

Man that's tough - I heard a few speculations on his TOI in the Final and a few seemed okay. I think without hearing from their head coach they'll only be speculations. The triplets line wasn't producing like they did leading up to the Final, so maybe that handcuffed their usage a bit. Who knows. I still think Stamkos will be cashing in with his next extension in TB, possibly close to Toews/Kane numbers as well.
