Makes sense. Not many people have the means to setup billion dollar businesses.

So only two cities/groups put in proposals for new teams. Actually, Quebecs media group put in two proposals . So, pending that they don't find one of them to be a fraud, does that mean those two cities are pretty much going to get teams automatically in since Garry let out that he's looking for 2 more teams?

Also, do you think Seattle and the other Toronto group are just waiting for the Coyotes or Panthers to fail and pick up one of those teams for half of the expansion costs?

 

I can't listen because I'm at work but I heard on 'TSN Lunch' yesterday them bringing up the point that the Leafs are the highest valued franchise at $1.3billion. After Leafs ($1.3B) then Rangers ($1.1B) and Habs ($1B) there's a dropoff. So just to buy a team would cost 1/2 of the most valued franchise? I can't see anyone thinking it's a good idea to pay that money no matter how rich they are. You're essentially throwing money out the window at that point.

 

I think for the people that can afford it, its more about buying into a private club.
