So yeah I'm going to stick with my original comments.

That's what I think too. I'm not sure why I was jumped when I suggested it's a bit early to say "SWEEP" lol.

 

I don't think he's been the reason the Pens are where they are though. Has he been a huge difference maker over Fleury. You bet. However Fleury has struggled for a few years now and I think Murray is just a top 15 goaltender doing his job rather than the bottom 5 effort they were getting out of Fleury whenever the game was on the line.

Kessel and Bonino though... I mean I get it that writers love to talk about pairing Malkin and Crosby because the Corsi looks good and they have names that attract reader but without that duo I don't think the Pens would be in the finals and certaintly wouldn't be up by two games.

 

The whole Pens roster has looked good. They are getting every penny out of every line, that's for sure. Vlasic has been doing a great job of containing the Crosby and Malkin lines but he can't keep up with Kessel or Hagelin. They can't play him enough anyways to stop all three of those lines. That's kind of the biggest thing I've noticed. The Pens have rolled three lines that overwhelm the Sharks. The Sharks great top two lines can't seem to do the same thing and I don't think it's Pittsburghs D that are causing the problem. The Sharks are taking too many end zone faceoffs and I think they are tired from playing D for the first 20-40 minutes of the last two games.

Polak has also looked brutal in the first two games. I know he setup a goal but his play defensively has been subpar. I watched him a lot in Toronto. He can play a lot better than he is.

 

Now I just want it to be over so we can dump the wagonners for another year and the thread can go back to normal

The Canucks trading Bonino for Sutter looks to be a trade won by Pittsburgh so far

 

Personally hope the Pens win in 5. Just so I can watch game 5 either in or outside the Consol

 

Who would of guessed. I thought for sure Sutter was the better player but it looks like Pittsburgh lucked out with how synergistic him and Kessel are. They look like Bozak and Kessel during the year the Leafs made the playoffs.

 

Well Sutter was injured for significant periods since the trade so not much to compare

And to be fair until they matched Bonino and Kessel they both looked shakey.

 

He only backchecks when he feels motivated. Again, there was a couple of years where he did the same thing for TO but once they started to falter that second effort disappeared.

 

I pretty much am in every thing I do.


Also. Hoping Pens take it in 5. So they win it at home. Not counting out the Sharks though. If they can get some offense going along with Jones. They'll be in good shape. Jones' is going places. The rest of the Sharks? Belong on a golf course.

 

The speed of Hagelin is an annoyance all in itself.

He just didn't fit with Anaheim and they already have his roll filled. He reminds me of a more offensive minded Cogliano. Always on someone.
