RNH should have been landeskog, Yakopov should have been Rielly, and even Hall should have been Seguin but hes still a star

Apples and oranges. Those 3 are injured and can go on LTIR. Datsyuk is not even a contract anymore, just a penalty basically because he retired on an over 35

 

He is still under contract to Arizona

 

Yakopov is a forward and Rielly is a defenseman. Plus Yakopov couldn't even speak English when he arrived. He still can't really figure out things. Those are not great comparisons.

 

Cheap price too. He isn't the huge upgrade though that I think the fan base is looking for. Now they simply have a better streaky goalie in net.

 

They traded his rights and contract. Same as any other player.

 

I'm not sure if this has been posted yet. Habs acquire Shaw from Blackhawks, trade Eller to Capitals.

 

Oh and for Matthews. While I love Clark, I even have a shirt with his name and number that I wear a lot, Matthews will be the best player the Leafs have ever drafted in the modern era. I can't wait to see him develop. I'm so happy that the Leafs didn't fuck this up and take either of the Fins. While I'm sure both will be great players, Matthews has done more with less around him and I'm sure his ceiling is so much higher.
