No it's not but you never know if players will learn to think first before acting or just do stupid shit. Raffi Torres was a first round pick with tons of upside because of his toughness but the league got tired of him killing people Scott Stevens style and he never came close to his potential. Nurse could follow a similar path if he's not careful and decides to go after everyone for a fight in a league that doesn't allow that anymore.

 

Imagine if the canucks finished 30th and Vegas won the lottery.....man this is gonna be bad if they do for anyone

That's not hard. You only need ~50 goals total from a line to have the line achieve 100 points or even less if both other players on the line keep getting assists and that's not good from a 1st line.

Mostly tried to argue that it was refreshing to see an Oilers team beat the snot out of an opponent - for change. As they are the whipping boys of the NHL. But the whipping boys - and their fans - aren't allowed to enjoy a thrashing like that. It only works the other way around.

My team has been stomped on for many years. Many times, viscously!!! So I was in my glory, watching them beat the tar out of an opponent. And it wasn't just that fight. It was the entire game. It was like the Oilers were 'roid raging that night. Call it bad, all you want......but I was loving it!!

It's different, when you team gets crushed constantly. If the Oilers were a competing team - that didn't get throttled relentlessly - and overlooked by the refs - then I'd 100% agree with you.

Maybe next year will be different.

(That's what Oilers fans tell themselves every summer - lol)
