I hated the old management more than anyone. Once Quinn was gone, the leafs were a shitshow until Shanny came around. I was NOT proud of them. Refused to wear my jersey. But now they are doing the right things and will be a force in the years to come.

In my generation, i have NEVER been able to get excited over a top 3 draft pick.

You've had, Yashin (who turned into Chara and Spezza), Daigle (LOL), Bonk, Berard (who turned into Redden), Phillips, Spezza... we had no one. Not ever one to get excited about. Should have had Seguin if not for Burke's blunders. I don't think you understand since you have had so many top picks. This is the first time since the leafs have become a "media darling" that we have a pick to be proud of. I actually want to watch the game just to see matthews, nylander, marner, zaitsev, rielly, brown, etc. play. You are so accustomed to watching top picks that you are numb to this.

 

Oh ok, I only saw highlights from that game so I didn't know. I don't like the guy at all, but I don't like seeing players get hurt. And high speed board crashes are always scary.

 

I agree, I had hopes that he would clean up the off ice stuff when the Sabres traded for him, but apparently he hasn't been able to do that. Hopefully the injury isnt serious because he was one of the better players for the Sabres last night before the injury. the Sabres arent a good enough team to have so many of their top players out injured.

 

When your 'off ice' stuff includes sexual assault, How does it really matter how good of a hockey player you have the potential to be? At that point you are the lowest of the low. Seriously, his shredded arm/shoulder is a drop in the bucket towards what discomfort he should have coming to him. I am sorry your team is down a man, but Kane is trash.
