Yes it is. And I was hearing a COMPLETELY foreign discussion on my radio today, as I listened to Oilers Lunch on Ched. The Oilers may actually be buyers this year. I felt like I had slipped into a time warp.

Lots of rumors around Eberle for Shattenkirk. I can't see it but who knows.

 

Ebs has got to be about the most snake-bit hockey player in the NHL at the moment. I know he's fully capable of playing great. But his last couple dozen games have been a nightmare.
I would not be sad to see him go (same with Nuge).....as long as something decent comes back this way.

 

Shattenkirk will be worth more then Eberle. Plus St Louis has cap issues. I'd expect Edmonton would have to offer up a first round pick and Eberle to have a shot at a guy like Shattenkirk. Decent defensemen command a crazy premium in a 30 team league.

 

Plus then Edmonton would have to sign him, which is of course no guarantee.

 

would make sense, but i read a lot about them just wanting to dump eberle's 6 mil for whatever. I can see it though with the blues always ready for a big move

 

The Oilers need a solid backup goalie as well. So that's another tough one. Very few of those, at the moment.

 

Good landing spot for Halak except it'll start goalie circus in Edmonton.

 

That was one name mentioned on the radio today. But his contract is mighty beefy. And would most certainly cause a goalie circus. Dunno if that's needed.
