I remember being at the games when people were smoking in their seats. I didn't enjoy the smoke as I was a kid at the time but I do have a lot of fond memories of the now gone but not forgotten Capital Center, what a shit arena but it was our shit arena! Now there is just another strip mall in it's place.

LOL yeah lots of trade talk around Nylander which isn't happening. They have to make shit up right now that TO might do just for the ratings.

 

I could see Kasperi Kapanen, JVR, and a 2nd round pick for Shattenkirk but no more then that. Maybe substitute out one of those guys for Connor Carrick. That'd be the Leafs maximum offer without harming their future and it would have to be a guaranteed sign and trade, ie Shattenkirk would have to be signed long term before the trade is completed.

 

Speaking of draft picks though Vancouver only has 5 this year as of right now. They'd be smart to stock up on a few more if they can with some of their more worthy pieces.

 

good god thats a massive overpayment too, I wouldnt do JVR straight up for him especially a pending UFA. Hes a disaster defensively, Im sure any blues fan will agree on here. Hes just the flavor of the year because hes a higher end UFA, but hes a UFA for a reason, they have better

 

Guys like Shattenkirk should be added free or nothing. I want JVR to stay for a while now, hes been great

 

Hence why I said Shattenkirk would have to be on contract first lol. No way you'd pay that for a UFA.

^ ...it was but after all those penalties in the 2nd, I expected some more fight out of LA in the 3rd. Nobody wanted to make a mistake, as allowing only 6 SOG was some good D. Kings needed to take some chances, as 4 SOG won't get the job done.
