I know, I know...... I'll watch the final games of any sport if a local team is in it. My husband and I even watched the World Series when Philly was in it - and I usually hate watching baseball.

You gotta admit (atleast years ago when we used to watch the Flyers) some of the games can get boring. I'll be screamnig at the Tv - HIT (check) SOMEONE!!! (laugh)

 

The Versus Network rules. I also have the NHL Network so that's nice too.

 

I alluded to it before, Leighton is Laviolette's Cam Ward this season.

Reports have Boucher back in uniform and on the bench as the back up for the series .

 

Both teams looking good right now, Philly just scored to make it 3-2 in the 1st. Hard to pick 'em. If the Hawks hadn't knocked out the Canucks it'd be an easy pick but I'm on the fence.

 

Great first game, despite the outcome.

Both teams will tighten up for the rest of the series, this was more of a "feel each other out" type game.

Flyers in 6 is still my call.

 

Does Philly go back to Leighton for game 2 ?

 

They should of never taken him out of game 1. You didn't see Chicago put Huet in did you.

 

Goalies don't always get pulled for their performance , sometimes the coach uses it as a message to his players .

And of course Chicago didn't put Huet in , they wanted to win the game . At least Boucher can play as he showed earlier in the playoffs before he was injured , Huet on the other hand has proven himself to be a seive .

But I would ask the same question for the must win game 3 , does Philly go back to Leighton or put in Boucher ?

 

True. That's a trick Laviolette used a lot in Carolina. he would yank Ward or Gerber in a heartbeat to get the team's attention. He's also the only one I've seen go empty net with more than 5 min left in the game. Crazy but it worked more often than not. Tonight in Philly should be wild.

 

I just got a funny email regarding hockey. It says that hockey players first wore "cups" in 1874 but didn't wear helmets until 1974.

 

Well , at least they had their priorities straight
