That was an awesome game. Back and forth all game. Neil jumped Glass after Glass took a cheapshot hit on Phaneuf and Glass got ragdolled. Sens came up huge in the 3rd to tie it with goalie pulled and 1.5mins left. OT goal by Turris came up huge.

    LOL

I remember when the Leafs blew their 4 goal lead in a critical game. No one blamed the refs. The Oil scored a goal on a missed penalty in the game as well. Karma is a bitch. The Oilers needed to find a way to close the game out and they couldn't. While the call was bad the Oilers dug their own grave, as they have two games in a row. Maybe a 19 year old captain wasn't the greatest idea?

My Facebook is full of oilers fans who have no clue, calling the game rigged against them. What a joke.

No doubt they blew it. What is goaltender interference again though?

Kind of self explanatory but I get what you were fishing for.

The call in game 5 was incorrect. The call in game 4 was correct. Does that help :p.

I'm not fishing for anything. Both calls were wrong imho.

While agree with most of your post - I take GREAT exception to this statement!! You could not be more WRONG with a question like that.

Regardless of what happens in the remainder of the playoffs, for the Oilers.....I consider this season - along with the post season - a resounding success!! They came from the basement, to finish next to the top of their Division. Played solid consistent hockey all season.
Much of this....thanks to #97. There is no question that he lead the way - and brought out the absolute best in so many other players on the Oilers. Anyone who hasn't seen that, is completely blind!!
Maybe he hasn't been a huge "numbers impact" guy in the playoffs - but he's still doing his part. And lead his team to beat out a team that made it to the SCF's last season. And they've actually hung in with a VERY strong Ducks team - so far.

Again - no matter what happens - I'm super proud of my Oilers this season!! They really made a huge step this year.

I think you misunderstood the root of my statement. McDavid, and the rest of the Oil, should definitely chalk this season and playoffs up as a success to build on. My issue is that blowing leads late speaks to inexperience and 97 wearing the C doesn't help that situation. Now I get that the best player, and not always the best leader, gets to often wear the C in the modern NHL. However I feel that maybe if someone with more experience, someone who could calm the bench down in these situations the Oil keep running into, was wearing that C then maybe the Oil would be better off. I doubt wearing the C has anything to do with McDavid's production and I could see a veteran holding that letter meaning more when shit turns sideways. That's my take on the situation anyways. McDavid will grow into his role hopefully but until then he's a quiet leader which has its pluses and minuses.

Perry made incidental contact after bouncing off an Oil defender with Talbot outside the crease in the situation in game 4. The correct call was made on the ice. It really is as simple as that. If the skate to skate contact had of been made in the crease it's likely a no goal. Talbot reacted and was much stronger in his crease for the rest of game 4 and 5. There was nothing he could do though on the last goal in game 5, that was clearly goaltender interference though I think the refs on the ice couldn't tell what Kesler was doing on their little 7.5" screens. This is likely the time to swap out those screens for Surface Pro's or iPad Pro's plus let Toronto have real input on the final call instead of now where the two guys on the ice make that determination.

Not surprising, I still think this could get done:

    http://www.tsn.ca/fasel-iihf-still-negotiating-with-nhl-over-2018-olympics-1.745070

Supposedly NBC is making a big deal about the NHL not going. NBC makes billions off the advertising for the Hockey games and those numbers will fall off if it's the KHL versus the CHL/AHL. NBC wants their money and they also happen to hold the NHL contract so they do have plenty of leverage with the one thing the NHL actually cares about, money.

I just don't agree with you. The C is definitely on the correct jersey. His ability and leadership is what brought the entire team up. I saw mediocre players elevate their game this year. Mostly due to McDavid.
