It was actually a nice trade. I like Kessel a lot. Im not in a dream land where I believe all the hype about every prospect alive so I will take whats proven anyday.
Oh and this cocky attitude is why I began to hate the Canucks. Your acting as if your teams hasnt blown the playoffs for the last 5-10 years. Were also a single shot away from being knocked out in the first round from Chicago. Other fans are happy when they are winning, but Canuck fans just seem to get arrogant

Well nothing they got for Kessel has scored 3 straight 30 goal seasons. Until they do we win. Plain and simple. This is where I see who actually know jack shit about hockey or just people who feed off of listening to TSN. When a player is drafted, they are hyped to the tits. Then they fall off and lose value. Thats how the media makes it seem. Do you not remember that Kessel was suppose to be "the american crosby" and speculated to be the #1 pick in 2006 for years but ended up 5th only behind elite talent themselfs? So why has his value dropped now after scoing 36, 30, and 32 goal seasons? 2 of which with AHL type players? Logic please. You can try and predict the future, but right now, who do you think Boston wants more? Kessel to help them win a cup? Or Seguin? explain

Thats exactly it. The hockey world loves to shit on toronto. So the THINK Kessel sucks, but in reality hes insanely talented and I would make that trade again in a heartbeat. Nobody seems to talk about how we got Joe Colbourne (2008 15th overall pick), a 2011 1st, and a 2012 2nd for a RENTAL Kaberle do they? Same sort of package
Say what you want but the leafs are actually building one of the most soild young cores in the NHL. Phaneuf, Aulie, Schenn, Reimer, Kadri, Kessel, Kulemin. All these players you dont hear about because people hate the leafs but are getting close to elite players. Time will tell though
Oh, and one good game from Seguin doesnt make him jesus. He was down right terrible all year. Worse numbers then Kessel's first year to be more accurate, while playing with a contending team vs the 2006 shithole bruins

true story, but a rebuilding team done the right way takes time. They only started 2-3 years ago. rebuilt the whole system. Coaching, management, players, prospects, farm team, farm team coaching. Its all been washed away from the old losing shit. Next year they will be the youngest team in the league again, and will probably be in the playoffs

They just need to fill in the blanks. With 15-20 mil cap space it should be easy. With Brad Richards a pending UFA he could be signed, and Im also hearing alot of talk of Paul Stastny being delt.
There is also a few UFA puck moving defence available too. But with Gardiner, Blacker, and Gunnarsson looking like they are ready for the next step, Im almost thinking to develop another year before we sign any players
