Anyways, Big guns were firing last night. I'd love to see the Pens just take it in Gm 6. i don't even care about winning on home ice. Wrap it up, if you can.

For as much as id love to see that so the pens can win at home, I have no desire to see a game 7 . . .

 

And another thing I hate is the time between games . . . Why 3 days . . ???

 

Ya. Maybe the Pens should look into dressing Mike Bales to play goal if they want a chance?

 

I don't think it matter who is in net for the Diving Pens in Game 6 , pretty sure the Preds will win that game then Game 7 is a toss up

What do you mean? The media's Conn smythe front runner has a .756sv% and 5.4gaa in Pitt the former 3 games. that's definitely championship caliber hockey

I ended up in a solid 4th for the TW bracket challenge.

 

I actually had this conversation a few years ago with a friend who works in the Celtics office. The C's are tenants of the Bruins, who own and control the Garden.

Two main factors:

One is the arena schedule. Last summer nobody was saying "We need to turn down that hugely lucrative construction equipment trade show, or concert, or whatever, because the Preds will definitely have a finals game next June 12th." They won't schedule in a week-long thing, but they'll definitely schedule single-night events. In an arena where the team is the owner/manager (and doesn't totally suck) they'll probably schedule a little thinner at this time of year, but they still won't let cash just walk away (Florida and Arizona probably consider May and June as the off-season and book other events freely).

So now they need to move a game either back or forward a day. They'll do back-to-backs in the first 2 rounds (there were a couple this year) as long as there's no travel, but not in the later rounds.

The other factor (and a huge one right now) is NBC. No way in Hell will they air a game against the NBA Finals.

If the C's and B's are both in the playoffs there is a lot of contractual stuff that determines priorities, and sometimes one of them will move to an afternoon game if it's the weekend so they can both play on the same day, but only in early rounds, and only if the TV contract allows, etc.
