Speaking of dumb , you ever figure out that foundation grading issue you asked me about ?

 

ya I ended up bringing in surge rock and blowing 11k.....not fun

 

I know we always say this when a new rule comes, but i truly believe they have fucked this game now with the faceoff and slashing garbage. That last slashing call was nothing, i dont even know what to say anymore

 

I won't watch a game until the real season.

 

So April, after the 82 practice games.

 

Point being I don't watch or put faith in preseason. The Leafs had undefeated preseason schedules in the mid 2000's with one of the worst teams in the league. They are placement and warmup games, nothing more. The players who will make the team are just trying to get their legs back under them. The players who are on the edge play to their potential and whichever team ices more of those players usually wins.

I enjoy watching the prospects play. That's what preseason is good for

 

I love to watch hockey. So I'll take any and all I can get.

But I may have an issue with that now. We moved recently - and decided to not get Cable TV. Not sure how I can watch the Oilers this coming season.
Anyone have any ideas?

 

Got a computer? Add blocker? I don't have cable just a jail broke fire stick. The fire stick sucks for live events so I just streem on usagoals.com ussualy, on my laptop. If I want full screen I put it through my projector.
Tons of websites stream games. Just got to be smart. On usagoals I have to shut off add blocker. Close the adds till video plays. Then turn add blocker on and switch to full screen. I watched mayweather mcgregor free on my brother in laws crappy internet!

 

Are you still in their TV market? You can watch most out of market games with NHL.tv and/or whatever the Canada version of it is. Rogers NHL something or other.

 

He needs a cable subscription to log into those services.

Like @def67 said, you'll need to pirate a stream in order to get it without cable credentials. It's part of the contract the NHL has with Rogers, the NHL can't setup an official steaming service outside of that contract for TV. My brother steals my Optik login all the time.

I don't have cable and use the NHL.tv app just fine. You just have to purchase a subscription for the year. No idea if it's the same for the Rogers one though. If you want something for free, you'll just have to pirate it from wherever. The reddit subreddit r/NHLstreams has game threads for every game each day with lots of options. If you're lucky someone will have it live streaming on YouTube and you can avoid all the pop-ups and shit with the typical streaming site.

 

I tried the NHL thingy a couple years ago. They blackout the Oilers for me - as I live too close. I live in Sylvan Lake, which is about 160 kms (about 100 miles) South of Edmonton.

 

Yeah that's why I asked if you were in the oilers tv market still. Looks like you're gonna have to stream it elsewhere, or find a friend who doesn't mind sharing their cable login haha

 

The other thing you can do is log in to a VPN service that is outside of Canada/USA and that will workaround the blackouts. Once you've got the stream going you can then disconnect from the VPN and you'll be able to keep streaming just fine on your local Wifi network.

I work with computers every day. But I'm very illiterate on all of the things you mention here.

 

Pay ~$40 a year and get a VPN and watch any game you want + the playoffs.
