Looks like Matthews got bumped too hard and is out at least a month.

 

Too bad. As much as I hate the laughs......I dislike seeing great players sidelined.

 

The only good news is that it's not the same shoulder he messed up last year. Tavares makes the injury a lot easier to accept as well.

 

All I saw was that he’s out for a month plus, is there speculation as to what the injury actually is?

 

I've heard nothing aside from some lip service that he feels good and that it's not the same shoulder that he injured last year. Given the time line I would guess he separated it. A collarbone would of had him in a lot more pain and a dislocation would take longer to heal.

Leafs were out there faking goals (twice) last night, since they seem to not be able to score without Matthews

 

They had a horrid game. Freddy kept them in it but overall they didn’t play their game at all and it showed. This is why they’re still a team building up to a run and not a team ready to go deep in the playoffs. The consistency just isn’t there. Only two games before they absolutely played a near textbook game against the Jets at home. Yesterday they’re making the Flames look good, and that’s hard to do.

 

Ya I mean, it was just a bad game but I was more just making a joke about the 2 early celebrations. The 2nd one especially lol.

Pens were bad last night, geez. Sometimes they play D and some nights not at all. Rematch tomorrow.

 

Flames take 4 points on a 2 game road trip. Take that every day. I don’t give a shit if the other teams shit the bed. We did just get beat 9-1 so I’m good with other teams crapping themselves too.
Pretty sure 9-1 will be a hard feat to beat though

I would imagine that it is somewhat significant. He's listed as 'Out Indefinitely'....and it's Quick. He always seems to be at the long end of a recovery process.

 

Vyblahblahblah Voynov has applied for reinstatement to the NHL.

Don’t think he’ll be reinstated and I really don’t think any teams are desperate enough to deal with the public opinion of a picking up a guy like that even if he does get reinstated.
