On XM they said Jones was already announced. Not sure if there is a great answer to that problem. Dell isn't great from what I've seen. They also said that Karlsson has actually been on the ice for more goals against than Jones has lmao.

 

CBC showed Karlsson had be on the ice for 7 of 9 goals against in one of the intermissions of the last game

 

Makes sense. I didn’t think there was a great solution other than Jones playing up to his ability. The Leafs would be nowhere with Andersen showing up for this series like he has something to prove. That butt end like check was amazing last night, you could see his effort level is maxed out.

 

Lol ridiculous. I love the guy but still funny. I feel like he is not 100% obviously, so I'm sure that has a lot to do with it. I think they cut down his ice time last game too, so he needs to turn it around.

Ya true. Anderson has been pretty reliable, in general. I think he only starts to look bad when the Leafs play in their own end goes away. But that happens with any goalie. As far as Jones, he just hasn't been himself all year. And the last 2 games, Vegas has really come at him, unlike Gm1 where he was barely challenged. But regardless, I know he can be great, so I won't be shocked if he snaps out of it and steals a game or 2. Vegas' 2nd line (really 1st line) is pretty lethal. That sure makes McPhee like he made all the right moves, bringing in 3 studs like that.

 

I thought it was a little bit funny that Rask didn’t get pulled after that collision caused by McAvoy. Not that I thought he had to go but I’m not sure how that doesn’t qualify as a high risk play under the concussion protocol unless the league is willing to admit goalies get a different set of rules.

They didn’t elevate their game, Colorado did. I have the same concerns about their core that I always have. I think Gio is great but Gaudreau and Monahan seem to disappear in the playoffs. I mean they’re alright but they just don’t seem to find that extra gear for the games that matter.

 

Pens final game tonight, hope Murray isn’t in net.
