He didn’t play by the rules. He knew when the refs weren’t calling elbows and made sure to take every inch. I mean I liked him back then but now watching the replays it makes me ill.

 

That was a devastating hit, but it was legal and clean.

 

Lol dude he makes contact with elbow directly to the head. That’s a textbook elbow but he played in an era where penalties like Elbowing, Hooking, Interference, and Holding were rarely called. The last three in general aren’t physical fouls, they just slowed the game down, but Elbowing is why the NHL is about to pay out the big bucks to a pile of retired players.
