Just spitballing but at the parliamentary hearing a couple of weeks ago Bettman said it would be impossible to penalize all hits to the head without destroying the game. That being said, all the way up to Junior A now there is a head contact penalty in the minors and it’s been pretty effective. I can’t see why they couldn’t put a 2 minute penalty for intentional head contact, in the opinion of the referee, similar to the way high sticking is called.

 

Offer sheets are 99% of the times a bad idea IMO. Not only does it open to door to your players to other GMs in the future, it just never makes sense. The stupid media is loving the negative leafs spin right now and trying to push the offer sheet thing but its so dumb. 4 1sst for anyone is fucking insane. It's a massive price. I can think of 3 people in the league that are worth that and it's McDavid, Crosby, and Matthews because of his age I think.
Even the second tier guys like Kapanen and a Johnsson. You have to give up a 2ND round pick for them and pay close to 4 mil and both are not worth that. Their stats are inflated to hell playing with AM and were fringe NHLers away from Matthews.
GMs are not stupid and only do this when desperate.
