Ya, that offside rule has to change in rinks where the bench door is on the wrong side of the blue line.

 

...or just jump over the boards and quit being a lazy ass and waiting for someone to open the gate for you lol.

I have no problem with the call. I have a pet-peeve of NHL'ers who change lazy. If I can hustle my ass off the ice in a men's league game w/o video review or nothing on the line, I don't know why pro players can't show some urgency in a game that has a lot on the line. Always was a weird concept for me.

Great game. Colorado is relentless. I think they will be good and have better days ahead. They were a lot better than I gave them credit for, this year. But Sharks are just a complete team. Great to see Pavelski back in the lineup and making an immediate impact.

 

No problem with the call? Because the call was he was offside even though his foot was on the blue line in every camera angle?

It's not a debate weather he should have gotten off faster or not. It's how they took 1 minute to look at that and determined he was offside.

Look if that play never happened and sharks just won straight out, I would have no issue.

The original call was a goal. So there needs to be irrefutable evidence that he WAS offsides.

Let's not even talk about how they miss a blatant trip on MacKinnon during a breakaway?

 

We could go a few different directions here...You showing me 1 screenshot doesn't really show me anything 1 way or the other. I'm not sayign I am 100% on board that it was offsides, but that pic doesn't prove to me that it wasn't either. And even though you seemed to want to excuse it, let's not take away the fact that GL made a poor decision on how to make a line change when your zone is next to the bench. When you are changing ends, your approach to how you manage the bench is different. Like I said even men's league adjusts for this. He made 0 attempt to even hit the line to take away any doubt that he was tagged up. He made 0 effort to hustle off the ice. Those are 2 basic things that could be done to completely remove any possibility for this to happen and he didn't do either of them. So what we have left is a situation where it is into the official's hands. Whether you agree with it or not, GL could've made an effort to actually tag up or get off the damn ice. He did neither, so therefore I have no problem with it, if the officials felt he was offsides.

 

Look im not gonna show you all the angles. No excuses but the Avs worked too hard for that to be the deciding factor. In a game 2 or 3 no big deal. This is a game 7 and the league is deciding a big play off of that. I guarantee you'd view would be different if it was your team in game a game 7

Let me reiterate the focus is on the offsides not whether hes off the ice or not.

Don't compare this to your mens league. It's a hard fought series where teams have to play every other night. We don't get 2 day rest periods like the east does.

I understand that Colorado is a "small market" team and they could give a shit less about us. We aren't gonna get calls or this won't be blown up as if it were an east team.

It wasn't the deciding factor. It is a 7-game series. And I will compare it to my men's league or any hockey because there is a level of awareness that a pro player (especially) should have in that situation. He does either of those things and we aren't leaving it into the hands of the officials to call. I don't want to hear how hard they worked, because that was a lazy play, period. Keep in mind, the Sharks get a penalty if that goal isn't overturned. So they must have been pretty convinced that he was offsides to even make that challenge. The goal was overturned and was confirmed offsides. So as for your focus on that, what more do you need?

 

Also I'm not sure how people missed this, but the offender himself took the blame :

 

It's funny how these guys never see the missed calls that go the other way. And somehow that was the deciding factor in the sharks win, WTF?

 

Colorado has been on the receiving end (in a good way) of 2 well-known offsides non-calls that have gone in their favor. 1 being Duchesne which was absolutely terrible and a big reason the rule is in place right now.

 

So jealous watching the Canes push around the Bruins

 

In an ideal world the sharks take the bruins down. In the real world ... I'm set for disappointment.
