Hockey mad cities though, I grew up a Hab fan, lived in Edmonton for many of the Gretzky years, and went to school in Montreal during the eighties as well, and there's nothing like an NHL playoff game in a Canadian city. Both inside and outside the rink. Living in Austin, we go to the games whenever the Habs are in Dallas, there are almost as many Canadien fans as Star fans. The atmosphere is nothing like the games played up north. NHL Hockey in Canada is the equivalent to NFL Football in the US, people live and breath for the game. It is, after all the birthplace of hockey. Maybe a Canadian team can even pull off a miracle and take home the cup, lol!

I can tell you game 7 of the Finals is scheduled for October 2nd or 3rd (If Needed). Toronto will be city B, so once they reach conference finals, those remaining in Toronto will be moved to Edmonton.

New Season will start in January.

The NHL is targeting a Dec. 1 start date for the 2020-21 season, although that is subject to change.

Key word is "Targeting" Only time will tell. My money is preseason Dec 1 and then actual season in January.

I can tell you the amount of work my group has to do for to the arenas and for the teams to star the new season needs as much time as we can get. When hockey support can get back to work will have more barring on when the season actually starts than what Uncle Gary and the players want (This week). That or lets push back player and puck tracking, the 6 new cameras they want in the boards another season, and all the other stuff.

Either way, we get hockey, and hockey is good.

I am sad both hub cities are in Canada. The Canadian government really restricts the number of US NHL employees that can work in Canada. I was hoping for a chance to work the playoffs this year.

I don’t work for the coyotes, but yes, the NHL paid me for all the games I was scheduled to work. I know that salaried employees ended up taking a 25% pay cut about a month into the shutdown, but avoided any layoffs. My boss if flying to Toronto this week, so hopefully I start getting pics of the arena setup.

    Well here we go!

    Stanley Cup Qualifiers schedule
Round-robin, best-of-5 series begin Aug. 1 in Toronto, Edmonton
The top four teams in each conference, based on points percentage, will play a three-game round-robin, and the No. 5-12 seeds will play in eight best-of-5 series. The winners of those series will advance to the first round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs against the four teams from the round-robin.

Stopped in this thread to see how things are, given the state of this pandemic. Good to see you still holding strong, hoping Nick Robertson gets Engvall's spot on the 3rd line eventually but I'm a dreamer.

    And suck it @OZ-T :)

Yea the 34/91/16 line may be an experiment, as is Robertson on the 3rd line. This may all reset after their one exhibition game vs MTL so we’ll have to wait and see.
