    Not happy with Kraken. I thought it was a joke when I first heard it suggested. Does anyone who's actually from Seattle really like it? Transplanted tech guys who bought season tickets, maybe? Nice logo for the kids? Cheesy team intro opportunities? Clearly, old guys who grew up here were not included in the focus groups.

    Maybe it's just that I can't shake the association with the first Clash of the Titans movie.

    I'm 39 and love it. Most of my friends & family love it. It also won every team naming poll conducted by the team and local sports stations (TV/Radio) that I saw. The other top vote getters were Sockeyes, Totems & Steelheads. I liked Sockeyes and Steelheads a bit but not as much as the Kraken. Glad to see them get away from the Totems and Metropolitans.

    Good to hear. My house was very pro Sockeyes, but my wife is a fisheries biologist, so there's some significant bias there. I'm sure I'll get used to it--I figure it will take about a week or so. Interestingly, I found that Larry Stone's article in today's Times pretty much exactly mirrored my feelings about it. At least we finally have an NHL team, so that will be fun.
