HAHA I did that one to a friend that gave me crap when SJ back doored Jones into their team. He gave me crap on how they acquired the best goalie ever but karma got the better of him.

@OZ-T is Holtby that much of an upgrade over what the Canucks had? I mean the Canucks playoff goaltending was amazing. Why bring in a guy in decline, or was the price the main factor?

 

Also how the fudge are the Leafs talking to Pietrangelo? Unless he's willing to play for peanuts we can't afford him without moving a core piece like Marner or Andersen. I could live without Andersen if we can get someone comparable. He's great but so streaky after that first great contract year.

 

Scratch my Markstrom comment. How that guy can be worth six million long term is beyond me. Good job fLames, see you golfing in the spring again soon.

 

Canucks would have to expose either Markstrom or Demko in next season's expansion draft and they think Demko is their future starter , Markstrom wanted more money and term than the Canucks could offer , Holtby hopefully has a decent season next year helping Demko ease into more starts and without a no trade clause they can expose him in the expansion draft

 

Like any big signing in Calgary his first year he will shit the bed, then slowly he will come around to be mediocre to above average as time goes by hopefully.
I think the big win for the Flames is just a change of the guard. I’ve heard good things about Tanev and his will to win, and Marky has seen the playoffs and appears to like it so, hopefully that will push a few of our stars to see the light... cough...Gadreau and Monny....cough....but probably not.
