Canes lost to Lightning last night, 2 more games to go in this 4 game series. 4 games in a row is too many especially against the defending Stanley Cup champion! Should be good games though.

Pens and Capps...again. I have to say, I was excited by the new format this year at the start of the season. I thought there were a great deal of rivalry games and they would be great to watch. However, the schedule hasn't cooperated, at least for the Pens. The last 6 games - since Feb. 6th - have been against the Isles or Caps. Tomorrow is another against the Caps, followed by two more against the Isles. That's 10 games - nearly the entire month against the same two teams. I miss seeing teams and players from the West, or even teams like the Blue Jackets, who are typically in the Pens' division. And the playoffs offer... more of the same. It's just a little monotonous for me.

My guess is it has a lot to do with how unsafe Bergevin feels right now. He made some really shrewd moves this summer but expectations were high this year and he's been the GM for a long time. If he didn't right the ship in Montreal quick I'm wondering if he felt he would get the axe pretty quick.

but that sort of proves that there is a code with some class and respect going on...it is not just brutality for brutalities sake, like most "on the outside" think it is

there was no need to destroy a guys career, and life, for that particular incident

 

The only time it's brutal is when the few heavyweights left go. Even then that's a fair fight so whatever.
