As a Philadelphia fan I’d say it’s time the Flyers franchise move on to another state and city. The franchise has done nothing since 1975, enough is enough, RELOCATE!!!
Go torture some other fan base.

 

Winning the Cup is not easy. I think sometimes fans/media forget that. So when your team has a nice run or is in an era where they are winning, you have to enjoy it. I feel very lucky to have lived through the Lemieux/Jagr era and then again for the Sid/Geno era. But things change, so I may not see another Cup in my lifetime here.

 

I hear you. I know there are ebbs and flows with every franchise but I was 7 when the Flyers won the cup. I honestly thought, not to be cold or morbid that Philadelphia would start winning when Ed Snyder passed. That said, the franchise exhibits the same mismanagement year after year and the ‘stepford wives’ fans sell out Wachovia Center every game.
I’ve had enough and wouldn’t miss them if they departed.

 

Ya man, it sucks. I totally get it. Sometimes it just goes that way. Sort of like how I hear people talking about old time Pirates. But people my age only know them as 1 of the worst baseball franchises going. I know baseball is a bad example because of the economics of that league (no cap etc.) But I'm sure you can still see where I am going with that.

I can't say that I hope they win the Cup for you (rivalry jab lol) but it may happen. You guys came close not too long ago.

That’s a shocking response…taken with a grain of salt. I’m a Philadelphia fan and proud of it. Along with 98% of those posting on this thread who back a team and don’t hide it, kudos. A comment from a person who won’t declare a team, yeah… grain of salt.

 

Why? Teams obviously move through the years, Nordiques, Jets, Whalers, Stars…

 

Unfortunately, there's a 'mass' of population that feel that the Leafs (and anything from the greater Toronto area) is the Holy of all Holys. Toronto (the City) identifies itself as the center of the Universe, here in Canadark. And it's not just with Hockey, or sports...for that matter. You'd never see the Leafs leave TO.

 

Honestly, you could say the same thing about Alberta as a whole now. "We the west" and all that lol.

You're (kinda) not wrong. Canada is turning into a 'tire fire'....so, all areas definitely have their issues! haha

 

This season yes, career he’s been excellent. This was just his second game off an injury, he’s played only a couple games and if you’ve watched him play over the years he’s definitely off his game. Canes scored 2 more goals after Rask was pulled after the first period by the way.

and I do think that there are some cities who will never lose their teams, regardless of success: Toronto, Montreal, Detroit, Boston...maaayyybe the Rangers....they are part of the fabric of the city, culture and society there.
