Yep, there are good calls and bad calls everywhere. I think the circumstances are important for the NHL to consider -- such as, the Rangers are down 3-1 in the series, 2-0 in the game and Trouba "accidentally" lands a high hit on Crosby. Maybe questionable during the reg season, but gotta tighten up in the post season.

 

Matthews had his jersey held and pulled the offender around for 25 seconds in game 7 and there was no call. Foote fakes a high stick to the face, on video it doesn't make contact, and the game is tied on the 5 on 3 that happens afterwards.

Tampa has had some bad calls against them as well but the officiating is brutal this year in the Leafs and Bolts series. I guess that's nothing out of the ordinary.

 

Crosby is out tonight. Not sure if Jarry is back.

 

Lots of flops in the playoffs. If a player even sees a blade there’s an immediate head snap worthy of an Academy Award lol.

 

Need an award for best embellishment pulled off in the playoffs.
And another award for worst no call by an official.

 

Been that way forever. On the other hand some shots are legit cheap shots. That's why guys sit out games when they matter.

 

The level of acting has moved up a notch for the playoffs though since there’s an award down the road.

 

That's what I mean. I have been watching hockey for 40 years and the playoffs have always been full of this. It's the sportsmanship of the game, like a puck clearly over the goal line and a goalie, knowingly, pulling it back then pretending that it didn't go over. Lots of acting because the stakes are high.

 

Louis was 1st goalie off the ice, so I'm leaning towards no. but I guess there is always a chance that there are head games. But more often than not that's a sign of who's starting. Haven't heard about anything else. Rakell is "game time decision."

No Jarry tonight, either. It's going to take a real effort from the entire team to beat the Rangers tonight. I can't see Jake getting it done himself.
